Wandering around... [Leonard Horatio McCoy] « Thread Started on Jun 19, 2008, 4:36pm »
Peter wandered out onto a patio. It was actually quite a pretty view, and you could see the sun beginning to set. There were a few chairs and a table out on the patio, along with the fountain and a well stocked firepit. Smiling to himself, he summoned up a jolt of lightning to light the wood in the firepit. After all, it was a bit chilly out due to the darkening sky. It had been a while since Peter had used any of his powers, and he quite liked being able to do so without anyone around to see it and label him "freak." He sat on one of the chairs, warming himself over the fire.

One minute he was on the starship with Jim and Spock in bed (no doubt) and now .... he was on the ground, still asleep, not realizing initially where the devil he was. It came to him soon enough and within mere moments, he had his eyes open, spitting out grass. "HOLY mother of GOD. What the hell?" were the words spewing right out of his mouth without a moment's hesitation. Looking around, he was still in uniform and he looked at his surroundings.
This was not the ship, but then again, this wasn't his plantation home in Georgia, now was it? Growling angrily, he continued to look for answers until he saw Peter. "You. Boy, where is this place? Why ain't I on my ship with Jim and the hobgoblin? You have something to do with this? God forbid it's that deranged lunatic Trelane again," he mouthed off.

Peter jumped a good foot in the air when the strangely dressed man jumped up and started shouting. He took a step back in alarm, and figured he should try to explain. "No one knows where this is. All I've been able to figure out is that tons of random people from all over end up here, pulled from their lives for no reason." He was stammering out the explanation as fast as he could to the intimidating guy. "I'm just another one of the people brought here against my will. And I don't know who Jim or Hobgoblin are." Peter hoped this guy would calm down.

The kid didn't look like a Vulcan nor spoke like one, definite plus in his books. Yet ... he didn't know Jim or Spock. Not good - it meant he was alone here. Dammit was the response inside his head but it appeared quite obviously on his face. Looking to Peter, he nodded his head. "It's all right if you don't know 'em, especially the 'Hobgoblin' who is Spock. I betcha they'll find me missing and think the whole Genesis escapade is happening again," he commented dryly.
Then, it hit him. Why would Peter know about the Genesis escapade? To him, it was the first book in the Bible, wasn't it? Oh, God. How he needed some alcohol and fast or a rather strong brew of black coffee. No matter. "So what you're saying is that it sucks us up and takes here without warning? God. Talk about your bad day. Forgive me for not saying it by now, but I'm Leonard McCoy, chief medical surgeon of the USS Enterprise. She's finest intergalactic spaceship we've got," he said, extending his hand to shake Peter's.

Peter shook his hand. "It's nice to meet you, Dr. McCoy. And yeah, that pretty much is how it works." Much like not questioning the way Meg acted, he had a feeling that it would also be good not to mention that in the world he knew, intergalactic space travel was impossible. Maybe this was one of those people from other worlds that Connor had been talking about. "I'm Peter. I don't know my last name, I'm afraid..." He shrugged, an apologetic grin on his face.

The kid had a good shaking grip and that pleased him very well indeed. "Ya got a good grip, Peter. Kinda like Jim's when ya first meet the man. God, I wonder what they'll be saying when they catch on their chief medical officer is missin'," he remarked, soon grinning afterwards.
He stood there, waiting for something else to be said, but nothing came. Bones shook his head. "Call me Bones, I suppose. After all, I just don't let anyone call me that, y'know."

Peter smiled. "Okay, Bones." An interesting nickname, to be sure. "Yeah, the people I was with before now have only known me for a week or so. Other than them, I have no idea who'd look for me... You see, I've had some issues lately with my memory. I woke up handcuffed in a storage crate with no clue who I was. I wouldn't even have known my name if the guys who found me hadn't told me. When they found me, they took my driver's license and all the stuff that could tell me who I was and locked it all up in a box to use as a bargaining chip to get me to work for them... They're the only ones who seem to have a vested interest in me or my abilities..." Crap, that last part had slipped out. The last thing he needed was for someone here to know about the freaky stuff he was capable of. He was sure it would freak people out. But then, this guy had traveled through space. Who knew what freaky stuff he was used to? (OOC: Don't worry about it. I'm gonna be gone for a little less than a week starting tomorrow, so I won't be replying for awhile. Sorry!)
