Megara scowled. "How do you know what the Aztecs would have wanted? There is most likely a good reason that necklace there was hidden in that statue. It was probably put in a place of great honor, not ever supposed to be moved and put on display." She scoffed. "Besides, that thing is unbreakable. I've seen a medal made similar to that that was put around a baby's neck."

That had been Wonder Boy, of course. He'd shown it to her after she'd convinced him to play hookie for a day. He'd told her about how he'd strangled a pair of snakes the day his mortal parents had found him-- that would've been Pain and Panic, Meg had realized. She hadn't told him that. Now it seemed she never would.

Indiana started laughing out of frustration. What was with this woman? It was definite that she was [i]trying to make him mad or frustrated, annoyed, whatever. That was obvious. She just didn't get it, did she? She honestly thought that he was into archeology for the money or for the glory or some other nonesense like.

Indiana smirked. "Well, the Aztecs aren't around to contradict me or any other archeologist, are they?" he said. "They're dead and gone. And I," he said, holding up the medallion again," can do whatever I want with this." Of course, Indiana didn't really think that way. The only thing he would ever want to do with the medallion would be to put it in a museum.

"Plus," said Indiana, continuing," a few more years stuck in this head, and this medallion would be a pile of dust. And I don't know about you, but I'm not about to let that happen."

"Where I come from, history is very important to the people and practically every person I know would agree that this needs to be in a museum," said Indiana.

Megara snorted. "Of course you would think so. You forget that you're from the future. To me, at least. On my scroll, the Aztecs don't exist yet." She smirked. "Where I'm from," she continued mockingly, "history is there to be learned from."

She rolled her eyes. He was being absurd. It seemed to her that he was a glorified grave robber. Honestly, the way he was cradling that medallion! It reminded her of a man with his beloved pet. At least a pet was alive. This was just a cold, metal, lifeless thing. It didn't even look that nice!

Indiana grinned. "With you being as...unknowledgable as you are, it would be hard for me to forget that I'm from the future, in your case,"he said, obnoxiously. Hearing what Meg said next, Indiana nodded. "Yeah, exactly. But how will you learn from history if you don't know what it is?" he said, angrily. "Most people know nothing of this medallion or the story behind it, which is pathetic," he said.

"Oh, God," he said, realizing something. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his glasses. He put them on and looked down at the medallion.

Indiana had found this medallion before, but like many of the artifacts he had found, it had landed in Belloq's hands. He looked down at the medallion and saw something etched into the stone. "damn...," he said, taking off his glasses. The date 'December 1, 1942' had been scratched into the stone. The real medallion would not have been able to be scratched at all. He shook his head and placed both the head and medallion on a table that he was standing next to. "Both fakes...shoulda known," he said, sadly.

Megara full-out glared at the latest crack on her intelligence. "I don't know the story behind it," she pointed out. She didn't want to know, either. It would just be utter nonsense, anyway. Historians tended to mess up the facts, or purposely sugar coat the government's actions. It was really stupid, in Meg's opinion, but, as she wasn't an official, she could do nothing about it.

Hearing Indiana say "oh God," Meg was again forcibly reminded that he was not a Greek. All Greeks worshiped numerous gods and goddesses. He should've said "oh gods." She let it go, however, not wanting to get into a religious debate.

At his final comment, she laughed. "Just figures, doesn't it?"

Indiana smirked and laughed. "Yeah, I guessed that much,"he said," Besides, you couldn't possibly knew of the story since they don't exist in your time." He finished the sentence laughing. He, personally, hated the story. One society trying to control and take over another. Very much like the war that was going on back home. Or at least, in his time.

Indiana was so angry. He had hoped that he had found the real deal and he was let down...twice. He was stuck in this place with practically no hope of getting home. Hearing what Meg said was the last straw. "And what the hell is that supposed to mean?" he asked, turning to her, angrily. He'd had just about enough of this girl.

Megara laughed harder. She couldn't help it. The look on his face was just priceless. Besides the fact that she was still miffed about all his remarks questioning her intelligence. All right, then, let's stick him in the middle of Thebes. While the Cyclops was destroying it. Then he'd see what it was like to be yanked out of your own time.

"It means you've got the worst luck in the world," she replied.

Indiana grinned and laughed, almost out of frustration. "No, no, no," he said, shaking his head. "Luck has nothing to do with this," he said. Luck was just a bunch of supersticious nonsense; something that Indiana did not believe in.

Indiana shook his head and laughed. "Besides, you don't know what the hell you're talking about,"he said. If he had had bad luck, he would be dead by now. With all of the people that have tried to kill him over the years? All the wars he's been in? All the spying he's done? "If I had the worst luck in the world, I would definitely be dead by now," he said, looking around the place. "If anything, I have the best luck in the world," he said, even though he didn't believe in luck at all.

Megara raised an eyebrow. "Oh really," she stated. "Let's see. You found that precious head statue, and the floor fell in on you. The head crumbles, but you find that medallion." She ticked them off on her fingers. "Ooh, too bad the medallion is fake, or it might have almost been worth it." She chuckled darkly. "On top of that, we're stuck here."

She crossed her arms. "Still think you've got the best luck in the world?" She snorted. Meg would very much like to see how well he'd fare with monsters constantly going at him.

Indiana shook his head and smirked at her. "I do this kind of stuff almost everyday, back home. That was nothing! I have people trying to kill me everytime I try to go and find a piece like that before the damn Nazis do," he said, angrily. Ugh...Nazis. He hated those guys with a passion. Even more than he hated the name 'Junior' and that was really saying something. He couldn't stand the name 'Junior'.

Indiana laughed out loud. "Yeah, I would, if there was such a thing," he said, grinning. "But since it doesn't exist, then I must be great at what I do, otherwise, I would probably be dead."

Megara scoffed. "Yeah, sure," she said slowly, sarcastically. She couldn't help it; you weren't very successful in Thebes if your life wasn't in danger at least once a week. More, if you just happened to have sold your soul to the Lord of the Dead.

She rolled her eyes and shook her head. He was being so typically male it was amazing she had expected any better.
