A visit to the Shadow Realms {Pegi's room} « Thread Started on Jun 13, 2008, 4:53pm »
Pegasus slowly placed his pen down replacing its cap as he left his work journal open on the page he'd left the note on. Slowly he loosened the ribbon on his high collar removing his jacket, and then the shirt beneath it, swiftly undressing. His movements slowing though with each garment he shed.
His cards were currently sat, ready shuffled and face down, on the bedside table. Slowly he pulled on a pair of loose trousers before he slowly laid down in the simple bed. He reached out for his cards, clutching them to rest on his chest just above his heart before he pulled the covers up so it covered most of his upper body.
Once that was done he closed his sole eye now seeing purely through the millenium eye looking for the familar door way with the blue pyramid over it. As he found it his breathing and heartbeat became undetectable as his spirit left his body.
{Block quoted text is Pegasus' view of the shadow realms}
Pegasus looked around the dull flat lands. Deceptively dull and flat he knew. He no longer held his toon deck cards in his hand. Instead he was surrounded by the monsters they were based on.
Slowly he looked around searching for the path he had to take, starting to walk. Everything was bathed in a dull reddish light. That was different from when he'd last been here, and it just made him all the more nervous.
(OOC: Anyone can post finding his still form. His note is written in his journal thread in the work journal. Any threads I've posted in prior to today will be responded to. i will not respond to any new threads till his shadow visit has been resolved

To look at for all intents and purposes Pegasus would seem as if dead. He was totally unconcious to the passage of time in this world, and he didn't move, one hand resting on top of the quilt, the other not moving from where it held his cards on his chest above his heart. His silvery hair fell loose, the fringe that normally covered his millenium eye falling back leaving the eye totally exposed. Of course now it was dull apart from a slight imperceptible blue glow to it.
Pegasus saw the gateways approaching even though he himself hadn't perceptively moved forward. This was how the Shadow Realms worked. He was used to it now.
What was concerning him most certainly though was the red glow that emenated everwhere. He had to force himself to not think of moving forward until he'd studied each gate way. They each held the same symbol above, but only one he knew was the true path. The other two would have traps and terribly real monsters down them.
So which one was it.
Faced with this decision a very slight frown marred the otherwise smooth face.

Indiana hadn't seen Pegasus in a few days, which he was fine with. It wasn't like they were best friends or anything, but he had been studying the heiroglyphs that they had found in the cave and he had come upon something extremely interesting. And he wanted to find Pegasus, so that he could share the news with him. It was definitely something that he would have at least some interest in.
Indiana was walking through the hallways, trying to find Pegasus's room, when he came to a door that had Pegasus's name on it. He knocked loudly on it. No answer. He knocked again, even louder, but still no answer. He shrugged and opened the door.
To his immense shock, he saw Pegasus lying on the bed, apparently dead. "What the-?" he asked to no one in particular. He went over to the bed to check Pegasus's temperature. No pulse. "damn...," he said, looking around the room. He spotted Pegasus's journal on the table next to the bed and went over to read it. His expression became more and more shocked as he read the journal entry.
Just to make sure of Pegasus's life still being in him, Indiana took out a small mirror that he always carried around with him for signaling. He put the mirror just under Pegasus's nose and after a few moments, saw condensation from his breathing. He sighed with relief. He would never have figured out the rest of the heiroglyphs if Pegasus never came back. "damn, Pegasus," he said, pocketing the mirror again. Not only did he want Pegasus to help him with the translating, he honestly liked his company. It was rare to find a person as interested in historical artifacts as he was.

Although Pegasus' spirit wasn't their it didn't mean his millenium eye wasn't picking up thoughts. They were just passed onto his spirit and a frown appeared. He couldn't stay here too long, but he had to be careful. To lose in the shadow realms was to die. Something he couldn't risk.
knowing how much time had passed he made his move chosing the path that felt like it was repelling him the most, hoping for the best. Not the smartest deducement but still. He couldn't debate for too long, time was against him. Many would find it odd, the warped time scale the shadow realms operated within,

Pegasus again had to pause at another pathway. He was once again without knowledge of how much time had passed. He could feel the repelling presence stronger now. Yes, he was drawing near.
He'd felt this before afterall. The monsters currently beneath his control looked around, almost nervously. Hell Pegasus himself was nervous, as he could feel the eyes watching him.
The ever present ever fearsome eyes of the jackal headed ruler of the dead Anubis. He had to jump as he felt something brush past him, a nervous laugh emerging from his spirit forms lips. He forced himself to keep going onwards.
Then he heard it, the shiftless resting of the dead. This wasn't good. There shouldn't be any dead here. How did this happen? What had Anubis done? These were just some of the thoughts that crossed his mind and he gritted his teeth as he thought them.
A faint sheen of sweat covered Pegasus' skin, his breathing somewhat slower now. As was his heart rate. His frown was deeper, creasing his forehead, knotting his eyebrows close together. His teeth too were gritted ever so slightly as he subconciously mimicked the expressions of his spirit.
He was skinnier now, his body really starting to show the strain, even in its still, hibernating state it resided in. Even he had limits, and this was a normal pattern for him. He was often left weak after spending just a day in the shadow realms. Just because one day in the shadow realms lasted so long.

Pegasus' eye widened as he saw the host, not only of the usual shadow monsters - he'd been expecting them at any moment, but also mummies, mummies that were definitly alive. They all seemt to be looking at what he knew was Anubis' sarcophagus.
Expectantly. As if they were waiting for something. Pegasus' eye narrowed. What were they waiting for? Suddenly he heard a voice, he couldn't decipher it. The mummies started the chant, a chant he'd been hearing a lot of lately. What did it all mean?
The voice he could hear strengthened and he gritted his teeth. This was not good. Anubis was getting stronger. He had the souls of the dead starting to reawaken from their sleep. That was only aiding his strength.
How though? How could it have happened. Glancing around himself he took a slow step forward, followed by another. He checked around the sarcophagus. Where was the Pyramid of light? it had to be here somewhere. Where could it be?
Turning his back was his first mistake as the shadow monsters suddenly moved. But that wasn't the main threat. No, from the shadows stepped forward Sphinx Telila. This was not good. Slowly he took a step back, he knew his monsters stood no chance against her. But if she was here where was the other?
Pegasus' face had returned to neutral, but now panic showed, even though you couldn't see his eyes, it showed in his face. His eyebrows frowning slightly as his spirit tried to work out what to do. A gasp of pain escaped his lips involuntarily.
Pegasus had first felt Andromeda's claws sink into his back. He could feel the blood dripping down his back, and he glanced back. His eyes widened in panic as he knew he'd have to fight her to give her bait to distract her away from him

Pegasus looked among his monsters that surrounded him, chosing the strongest he could pick, hoping this ruse would work. The moment Telila was occupied he moved again, following gut instincts.
He knew if Telila made noise then Andro Sphinx would join her. That would DEFINITLY not be.... his thought patterns broke off as he heard an angered roar. Not good. He looked around hunting for the door.
He knew what he was looking for, and as he found it he leapt through it, just in time to avoid an attack off Andro Sphinx.
Pegasus moved suddenly, sitting bolt upright, sweating, his normal eye wide open as his millenium eye gleamed. He drew in deep breaths his heart suddenly going from near on totally inactive to pounding. He closed his single eye concentrating on steadying both.
He needed to give his body time to reawaken fully. Once he had his heart rate under control he found his breathing soon followed. Then he opened his eye looking around himself. damn he was hungry, first thought that passed through his mind followed by the realisastion he was also thirsty as well.
This was promptly followed by the fact he needed to talk to Kaiba. He needed to know how long the shadow realms had been as they are, and Kaiba had been the last person who had been to the shadow realms, well besides Mokuba. (Awakened on the 16th day and 9 hours, time passed in the shadow realms 20 hours)

Indiana had left Pegasus alone, knowing that he wouldn't be awake for a few days. It would be two days until he would wake up, according to the passage that he had written in his journal. He had packed a meal in his bag, just in case, for some reason, Pegasus would have waken up...or gotten back before the 18 day limit was up.
Indiana knocked on the door once again and recieving no answer, he opened the door and walked in. To his surprise, he saw Pegasus sitting straight up in his bed, looking as if he had just waken up from a bad dream.
"Hey," he said, sitting in a chair next to the bed. "Uh...are you alright?" he asked.

Pegasus glanced over at a voice waiting until he'd got himself composed enough he could speak. He smiled though he'd recognised Indiana, almost glad it wasn't Kaiba who'd come across him just waking up after being to the shadow realms.
"Things are bad in the shadow realms," he muttered reaching for his work journal, jotting down a few loose details, he'd fill it in in more detail later. This was just so that he didn't forget anything.
"How many days by the way?" he asked referring to how many days he'd been in the shadow realms, leaning back against the headboard of his bed just feeling the kick in from Sphinx Telila's attack while he'd been making his escape. It only reminded him he was hungry, and thirsty more.

Nothing seemed to be terribly wrong with Pegasus. At least...not on the outside. Indiana really didn't know what happened to one's mind in the Shadow Realm and he wasn't sure if he really wanted to find out. The idea was all pretty new to him, dispite his experience with the supernatural. The fact that Pegasus could change where his soul was at his will was a very new idea to Indiana.
Hearing what Pegasus had said, Indiana scrunched his eyebrows together and looked at him. "What happened?" he asked, worried, but interested.
Indiana reached into his bag and pulled out the meal that he had taken from the kitchen. "Uh..about sixteen days, I think," he said, setting the meal on the table next to the bed.

Pegasus sighed as he glanced over at him. "Anubis is still asleep, but there's quite a few things different. The shadow realm monsters gather around his sarcophagus, I myself had a rather....nice run in with one of his pets," he sighed. He knew that that run in with Sphinx Telila was only going to leave him rather weak for a while.
He smiled though at the meal "I guess it'd be pretty obvious that I'm gonna be hungry," he chuckled. "The dagger we found by the way, my suspicions were right, its the Dagger of Fate, and it should be lieing in Anubis' sarcophagus, I suspect that the Pyramid of Light is going to be found somewhere here as well, something else that should be resting with Anubis," he sighed.
He couldn't help but to start eating though, he was hungry afterall, and grateful for the food.

At the mention of monsters, Indiana's eyebrows raised up. He hadn't realized that there were actual monsters involved here. Unless he had missed something that Pegasus had said...which was very possible. He thought about what the monsters might look like and the only thing that popped into his head was a gigantic, venomous snake. He shivered and shook his head at the thought. He hated snakes. "Monsters?" he asked, unsure.
Indiana grinned and laughed slightly. "Yeah, I had a hunch you might be," he said, getting up from the seat. He went over to the window and leaned his right arm against it, looking out. He was starting to really hate being here. He wanted to get back home...back to his classes, and most of all, back to his archaeology. Who knew when he would next be able to get some artifact for the museum?

Pegasus sighed as he finished his meal. "they are in part what duel monsters are based off, its why I knew I could rely on my cards to be with me in the Shadow Realms," he commented. "Not as cards though, but as the monsters they were based off," he explained further.
"Had to sacrifice two of them to occupy Sphinx Telila," he sighed. "Rather that though then getting killed there," he shuddered. "But still, with the dead joining Anubis in the Shadow realms... his spirit at least will be strengthening, he'll be gaining strength,"

"Ah," said Indiana, nodding, after hearing Pegasus explain about the monsters. This whole thing was so foreign to him and it still made him very uneasy. He had been through experiences with supernatural things before, but never one quite this extreme.
This was maybe the one part of history that Indiana had no knowledge of. Or extremely small knowledge, if any. "What happens if he gets too strong? Is there anything we can do?" he asked Pegasus.
